Why Plan Ahead?
Peace of Mind
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Personal Choice
Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice. Pre-planning provides you with the time needed to make practical, detailed decisions that reflect your standards, lifestyle, taste and budget. And we assure you and your family that the choices you make will be carried out as planned. Lower Costs
When you finalize your plan, we can advise you of the total cost. You do not have to set aside funds for your plan, but doing so protects you against escalating funeral costs. By locking in today's funeral costs and ensuring that the necessary funds are set aside, you help relieve yourself of unnecessary future worry and your survivors of an unexpected expense.

Anne Mechelle Mayfield, age 48, of Dahlonega, GA died Tuesday November 23, 2010 at the
Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Mechelle was born October 12, 1962 at the Woodward Clinic in Dahlonega, Georgia.
She is the daughter of Margaret Moose and the late Clyde Moose of Talmo, Georgia.
She has two sisters, Shannon Conrad of Ohio and Edessa Chavalier of Gainesville, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, First Sergeant Bobby Mayfield who currently works on computers at Lumpkin County High School and her two sons, Will, who is a Senior Cadet at NGCSU while also serving in the Georgia Army National Guard
and Ben who just started college this fall and has served in several State Offices with the Georgia 4-H. She was a member of Dahlonega United Methodist Church.
Mechelle had two great passions in her life – her sons and her teaching. She was extremely proud of all the things her sons have accomplished in their short lives and for Mechelle, teaching was not a job, it was a lifestyle.
Mechelle was a graduate of North Georgia College, Class of 88. She began teaching at Lumpkin County High School in 1989 in the Business Education Department. She began teaching accounting and business law, but evolved over the past 21 years to
teaching Web Page Design and 3D Animation in a state of the art computer lab. She has had several students achieve State and National Honors in Multi-Media Design areas over the past few years.
At the end of the 2009-2010 school year, Mechelle had to retire due to her continuing health problems.
Over the course of her career Mechelle was recognized many times for her contributions to clubs, organizations, and activities of the school. Among these were the FFA, Skills USA, Student Council, and FBLA. At various times she served as an officer in the
local chapter of the Georgia Association of Educators.
She was also an active member over the years of several Athletic Booster Clubs at both the Middle School and the High School levels. These included Soccer, Cross Country, Football, Wrestling, and Tennis. She was also an ardent supporter of the 4-H
and of the Georgia Army National Guard where she served as an Officer in two different Family Readiness Groups.
Mechelle was a mentor to her fellow teachers and to her students alike. She always made new teachers feel welcome no matter what their area of specialization and at her retirement luncheon she received a standing ovation from her faculty and friends.
Funeral services for Mechelle are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Dahlonega United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeff Ross will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.
