Marie Davis


Mrs. Marie Calhoun Davis, age
80, of Dahlonega, GA died November 10,
2010.
Mrs. Calhoun lived most of her life in
Lumpkin County. She was retired from
General Motors and was a member of
Siloam Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
She was an active member of the Georgia
Tribe of the Eastern Cherokee Indians.
She was the daughter of the late Roy J.
Calhoun and Lila May Davis Calhoun and
was also preceded in death by her brother,
Roy Dan Calhoun and son-in-law, Harry
Ephgrave.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances
Ephgrave, The Woodlands, TX; Sons, Tony
Gilleland, Gainesville, GA, and Terry
Gilleland, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren,
Karen and Fred Coker, Leah Gilleland,
Daniel Gilleland; great-grandchildren,
Zachary Ephgrave, David Coker, Ryan
Coker, and Justin Coker; uncle and aunt,
Sam and Bonnell Davis; cousins, Nelson
Davis, Vera and Mike Pierce, Ryan and
Marisa Pierce, Brent and Stasia Pierce,
Adam Pierce, Kate Fitts, Clayton Pierce,
Summer Pierce, and Lexi Pierce, Jack and
Laurie Davis and family, Marie Davis and
family. Numerous other relatives also
survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis are
scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, Nov. 13,
2010 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel
in Dahlonega. Rev. J.R. Fields and Rev.
Tony Allison will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Davis Family
Cemetery in Lumpkin County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral
home on Friday starting at 11 AM.
Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in
charge of the arrangements.
