Eleanor Cowart Young passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2010 at the age of 92.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Eleanor lived at Smoky Springs Retirement Community, Gainesville, GA for the past 10 years especially enjoying the activities program. Prior to that she lived over 50 years in Tampa, FL, was an Elder at Forrest Hills Presbyterian Church, was church secretary for 10 years, delivered meals on wheels, loved to travel to elder hostels, and spent many hours visiting friends in hospitals and nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Young; and two sisters.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Paula Bingham, Dahlonega, Jan Young, Stone Mountain; grandsons, Brian Matthews and his wife Alisha, Dahlonega, and Wes Bingham, Oakwood. Her two great-grandsons, Zachery and Nolan Matthews have been a delightful addition to the family she loved.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday Feb. 23, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 800 S. Enota Dr. NE, Gainesville, GA.
