Richard S. Thomas, age 62, of Murrayville, GA,
died May 22, 2011.
Mr. Thomas was the son of the late Clinton Thomas. He
was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Andrew
Ellis.
He was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. Mr.
Thomas was a homebuilder and was a member of
Philippi Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Thomas, Murrayville,
GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jennifer
Thomas, Dahlonega, GA; stepson, Vincent McIntyre,
Dahlonega, GA; step-daughter and husband, Sonya and
Ryan Suggs, Lula, GA; mother, Edis Ellis, Dahlonega,
GA; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and J.W. Davis,
Dahlonega, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Ellis
Sr. and Brenda Ellis, Dahlonega, GA; beloved
brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stephen and Barbara
Varnedore, Waycross, GA; brother-in-law, Stanley
Varnedore, Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Tyler
and Meaghan Thomas, Martin and Taylor Suggs.
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday
May 25, 2011 at Philippi Baptist Church in Lumpkin
County. Rev. Dean Bryant and Rev. Jason Fuller will
officiate.
The body will lie in state at the church on Wednesday
from 10:30 AM until 11:00 AM.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 24, 2011
from 2 PM until 8 PM at Banister Funeral Home in
Dahlonega, GA.
Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the
arrangements.
