Mr. Andrew Jewell “Gabby” Gaddis, age 81, of Dahlonega, GA, died
Monday, February 7, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Gaddis was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and was a member
of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. He was retired from the Burlington
Industries Pinetree Plant in Dahlonega.
Daddy’s favorite quote was “It’s Wonderful!”
He was the son of the late Arthur Gaddis and Elzora Meers Gaddis, and was also
preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Chester; brothers, Claude Gaddis, Fred Gaddis
and Homer Gaddis.
Mr. Gaddis survived by his wife, Lena Gaddis, Dahlonega, GA; daughters and son-in-
law, Lesha Patterson, Dahlonega, GA, Kim and Robby Geist, Concord, NC; sons and
daughters-in-law, Andy and Rhonda Gaddis, Cumming, GA, Sammy and Stephanie
Gaddis, Pleasant Shade,TN; sister-in-law, Fannie Gaddis, Dahlonega, GA. Eight
grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Gaddis are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at
the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
Rev. Jerry Whitlock will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday
Feb. 8, 2011 from 5 PM until 9 PM and all day on Wednesday.
Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge of the arrangements.
