Mr. Thomas Perry Nix, age 77, of
Dahlonega, Ga. died August 24, 2011.
He was the son of the late Perry Nix and Lillie
Perry Nix. He was also preceded in death by a
brother, James Nix.
He was a self employed farmer. He and his wife
Mable were married for 42 years. Mr. Nix, as a
member of the U.S. Air Force, served one year
in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star
Medal for meritorious service.
He is survived by wife, Mable Nix, Dahlonega,
Ga.; daughter and son in law, Camille and Joe
Walker; Dahlonega, Ga.; sons, Tommy
Batchelor, Covington, Ga. and Michael James
Nix, Columbia Missouri; son and
daughter-in-law, Thomas and Detina Nix,
Louisville, Kentucky; sister and brother-in-law,
Carolyn and Roy Chism, Greenville, South
Carolina; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and
Judy Nix; Gaffney, South Carolina;
brother-in-law, Robert Batchelor, Monticello,
Ga.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ruby
and Richard Roth, Wheaton, MD, Benny and
Elanor Batchelor, Cochran, Ga., Cordy and
Linda Batchelor, Monticello, Ga., Leonard and
Linda Batchelor; Covington, Ga.; grandchildren,
Grace Walker and Hannah Walker, Nathan
Batchelor, Kevin Nix and Cody Nix. Numerous
nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM
Saturday August 27, 2011 at Banister Funeral
Home Chapel in Dahlonega.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery
in Gainesville with full military honors provided
by the Veterans Alliance Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to
United Hospice Foundation, 1626 Jeurgens
Court, Norcross, Ga. 30093.

26, 2011 from 2 PM until 4 PM and 6 PM until 8
PM at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega.
