Mr. Ernest “Woodrow” Hicks, age 82, of
Dahlonega, Ga. died September 23, 2011.
He was the son of the late Robert Hicks and Madge
Rider Hicks. He was also preceded in death by a
sister, Pauline Pendley; and brother, Alexander
Hicks.
Woodrow was a self employed cabinet maker.
He is survived by his wife, Earlene Hicks,
Dahlonega, Ga.; sisters, Lorene Parker, Cordele,
Ga., Mildred Reeves, Dahlonega, Ga., Faye
Martin, Dahlonega, Ga., Wanda Miller, Buford, Ga.;
brothers, Robert Hicks, Dawsonville, Ga., Roger
Hicks, Dawsonville, Ga., Ralph Hicks, Dahlonega,
Ga.; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Earl and
Dot Sanford, Dahlonega, Ga., John and Barbara
Sanford, Jackson, Ga.; brother-in-law, Horace
Sanford, Dahlonega, Ga.; niece, Sally McElduff;
nephew, Raymond Sanford; nieces and nephews,
Tank, Tenny, Todd, Frances, Kaye, Sissy, Renee,
& Pumpkin. Several great nieces and nephews also
survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Monday
September 26, 2011 at Banister Funeral Home
Chapel in Dahlonega, Ga.
Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Tommy Ross will
officiate.
Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church
Cemetery in Dawsonville.
The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 9 PM
on Saturday, September 24, 2011 and all day on
Sunday until 9 PM at Banister Funeral Home in
Dahlonega, Ga.
Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega is in charge
of the arrangements.
