On October 18 in the year 2011,
Rosalie Ruth Beasley went
to her Glorious home in Heaven.
She had lived in Dahlonega for the
past 30 years.
Born in Howell, Michigan to Morris
Sheridan Drew and Freda Ryckman on
May 20, 1926, Rosalie is survived by
her husband, Robert John Beasley,
former manager of Big Star,
Dahlonega’s first major Supermarket.
Her Yarn and Craft Store on the
Square was known in the community
as “Rosie’s Yarn Basket”. In addition
she was in the Hospital Auxiliary for
Eighteen years, where she served as
President and District Leader and
operated the Dahlonega Hospital Gift
Shop.
She is survived by Sons, Gary Beasley
and daughter in law Paulette, South
Lyon, MI and Jeffrey Beasley, Amarillo,
TX; Daughters, Gail O’Connor and son
in law Wilbur, and Nancy Beasley of
Dahlonega. There are six
Grandchildren, Mark, Sheryl, Laura,
Samantha, Tessa, and Matthew; and
six Great Grandchildren, Katelyn,
Melanie, Allison, McKenna, Travis, and
Rayna.
She is preceded in death by Brothers,
Warren Douglas Drew, Morris Stanley
Drew, Richard Marlow Drew, and
James Michael Drew. Three sisters
survive, Marilyn Carver of St.
Augustine FL, Elaine Ulrich of
Lewisville, TX, and Judy Michaels of
Dahlonega.
A Memorial service will be held on
Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 11 AM
at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel
in Dahlonega. Rev. Rob Bruce will
officiate.
